The Scientific Panel for Contaminants, (CONTAM-panel) of the EFSA has issued an advice that gives sufficient rise to change the current PAH standard as included in GMP+ BA1. With this, GMP+ is in line with the standard recently defined for food.
The EFSA recommends analyzing aromatic hydrocarbons in food based on four specific hydrocarbons (the so-called PAH41).
The GMP+ initiated a project to change the current PAH standard. The structure of the new standard will be in line with the advice of the EFSA.
The result of this project will soon be processed in the form of a modification of the PAH standard in the GMP+ BA1. You will receive information about this.
