Important change in the GMP+ FRA requirements
03 December 2015
Recently, the Subcommittee Responsible Feed and the International Expert Committee have approved a change in the GMP+ FRA requirements. These changes relate to a number of editorial matters and an adjustment in the documentation retention period in the GMP+ B100 Feed Responsibility Management System, but the main change is been implemented on request of the market initiative behind the GMP+ MI103 Responsible dairy feed.
GMP+ MI103 Responsible diary feed
The Sustainable Dairy Chain, (the market initiative of the GMP+ MI103) asked to implement a change in the purchasing requirements in the GMP+ MI103 standard. In the previous version of this document at least 20% growth in Mass Balance RTRS soy was asked in 2016 and further growth in the years thereafter. Since, after an inventory by the Sustainable Dairy Chain it appeared that this growth is practically unfeasible, the Sustainable Dairy Chain has decided to take the growth model out of the purchasing requirements. This means that next year, it is allowed to use 100% RTRS credits (via the supply chain model Book & Claim) for supplying responsible dairy feed) just like this year.
The new purchasing requirements of the scope ‘responsible dairy feed’ is available in the new version of the GMP+ MI103 Responsible dairy feed.
GMP+ B100 Feed Responsibility Management System
The standard GMP+ B100 includes a number of editorial changes and a missing definition has been added. A more substantial change is that we have changed the documentation retention period from 5 to 3 years. With this, the retention period for documentation of FRA matches the retention period for documentation of FSA.
The changes in both documents take effect on January 1st 2016.
