Publication of several GMP+ documents regarding EA accreditation

17 December 2015

In August 2015, we informed you of the fact that the GMP+ FC scheme has been accepted by the European cooperation for Accreditation (EA). For more information, please see the relevant newsletter.

In relation to the accreditation granted, a number of GMP+ documents must be (formally) republished with an adjusted publication date. It concerns the following documents:

Document

Old publication date

New publication date

GMP+ A1 General regulations

January 1st  2015

August 1st 2015

GMP+ B1 Production trade and services

January 1st  2015

June 1st 2015

GMP+ B2 Production of feed ingredients

January 1st  2015

June 1st 2015

We would like to stress that these new versions are virtually identical to the current versions in terms of content. Only minor changes had to be made to said GMP+ B standards in relation to the EA acceptance. This concerns the removal of a number of words, such as ‘sufficient’, ‘adequate’, and ‘as soon as possible’. The changes in the GMP+ A1 concern the use of the logo. It now refers entirely to the GMP+ A3 document. In addition, an article about liability has been added.

These words are considered to be not concrete enough, making them difficult to verify. In consultation with the IEC and the subcommittees, it was assessed that in general, these words could simply be removed, because the description of the relevant requirement is concrete enough without these words. In a few paragraphs, the sentence had to be rewritten a bit.
