Partnership between GMP+ International and QS: unannounced audits for GMP+ FSA producers
03 October 2016
In our newsletter of July 13th 2016 were have informed you, that the partnership be-tween QS and GMP+ International has been continued and expanded. An important item for QS is that GMP+ certified companies that deliver feed to QS certified companies, must have had a prior unannounced audit. Meanwhile, the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme includes options for making the implementation of an unannounced audit part of the certification.
The unannounced audit only applies for GMP+ FSA certified participants certified for the scopes:
- Production of compound feed,
- Production of premixtures,
- Production of additives,
- Production of feed materials.
It has been agreed that the QS requirement in respect of the unannounced audit will take effect on 1-7-2017. This means that QS certified companies, from this date forward, can only purchase products from GMP+ certified companies that have received a prior unannounced audit. The implementation of the unannounced audits will be documented by means of registration in the GMP+ database by the certification body. QS certified companies are required to check whether this requirement is being met. The unannounced audit must be carried out once per certification cycle.
The requirements of the unannounced audit have been documented in the latest version of the GMP+ C3 Assessment and Certification Criteria for GMP+ Certification – product certification and GMP+ C6 Assessment and Certification Criteria for GMP+ Certification – process certification.
