Update International Database Transport for Feed (IDTF)

12 januari 2016

Important requirements added for Qualimat’s classifications of compound feed, following the extension of scope of Qualimat Transport.

The scope of Qualimat Transport extends the transport of compound feed, from January 2016.

The  cleaning  level  is  different  depending  on  whether  the  compound  feed  is  transported  in alternation with raw materials, or through exclusive successions of compound feed transports. Important requirements about Qualimat’s cleaning levels are therefore added for compound feeds classified in IDTF.

1)  Animal feed without processed animal proteins - IDTF n° 40218 and 40325

The   cleaning   regime   is   unchanged   (cleaning   regime   A),   and   the   following   « important requirement» is added for Qualimat:

Qualimat Transport standard defines specific requirements for compound feed, from 1 January 2016.

These requirements are based on the obligation of introduction of control measures for the prevention of interbatch transfers, taking into accounts the specific instructions provided by the customer.

In the case of successive transport of compound feed, the transport company must implement control measures in order to prevent interbatch transfers, taking into account the specific instructions given by the instructing party.

A cleaning is necessarily carried out in the case of successive changes of compound feed from different manufacturers. This cleaning is applied to the entire container or reduces to the box or boxes concerned. Achieving this specific measure must be recorded.

Cleaning is defined as an action to ensure full vacuum container through integrated systems (pushing air or pressurized in the circuits). In the absence of integrated system, the vacuum must be provided by a mobile blow-box system and a mechanical removal of residues.

All requirements are detailed in “Cahier des Charges Qualimat Transport V6” online on the website www.qualimat.org, in the page “les documents de référence”.

2 ) Animal feed containing processed animal proteins:

For Qualimat, the actual cleaning regime for these products is D or forbidden (see table below).

IDTF

Product name

Actual                Qualimat

cleaning regime

10042

Animal feeds with blood products from non-ruminants

D

10043

Animal feeds with fish meal

D

10047

Fish feed containing blood meal of non-ruminants

Forbidden

10117

Fish feed containing blood products from non-ruminants except serum

D

10118

Animal feed containing dicalcium or tricalcium phosphate of animal origin

D

10119

Animal feed containing processed animal proteins except fish meal

Forbidden

10120

Animal feed containing gelatine from ruminants, blood products from ruminants, hydrolysed proteins from ruminants (other parts than hides

and skins) or blood meal from ruminants

Forbidden

This cleaning regime (D or forbidden) is applicable only if the animal feed is transported before a raw material (corresponding to the initial scope of Qualimat Transport), but this can not be the same cleaning regime in the case of successive transport of compound feed.

So the following « important requirement» is added for Qualimat, under these IDTF n°:

Qualimat Transport standard defines specific requirements for compound feed, from 1 January 2016.

These requirements are based on the obligation of introduction of control measures for the prevention of interbatch transfers, taking into accounts the specific instructions provided by the customer.

In the case of exclusive transport compound feed (no transportation of raw materials, additives or premixes), minimum cleaning regime changes from level D to level A / from level forbidden to level A, completed by control measures in order to prevent interbatch transfers, taking into account the specific instructions given by the instructing party.

All requirements are detailed in “Cahier des Charges Qualimat Transport V6” online on the website www.qualimat.org, in the page “les documents de référence”
