Soon available Feed LCA e‑learning module for MI5.7 auditors

GMP+ International will launch a mandatory Feed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) e‑learning module in the first week of April on the GMP+ Academy. This module will help auditors prepare for the new MI5.7 Feed LCA standard, which will be published in May.

What the module covers

During the last CB Harmonisation meetings, we informed you about the development of the new MI5.7 Feed LCA standard. We also highlighted the need for consistent auditor knowledge to support its implementation.

To facilitate this, we have developed a comprehensive e-learning module in English, German, and Dutch. The module is designed for completion during your CB Harmonisation meeting, guided by a designated coordinator.

It covers the core elements of MI 5.7 Feed LCA using:

  • short explanations and theory;

  • visuals;

  • knowledge checks;

  • scenario-based exercises.

These elements help auditors understand the standard and qualify to audit MI5.7 Feed LCA. Completion of this module is mandatory for auditors who wish to perform audits under MI5.7 Feed LCA.
It ensures that auditors:

  • understand the principles of Feed LCA;

  • meet the formal acceptance criteria set by GMP+ International.

What this means for Certification Bodies

The introduction of MI5.7 Feed LCA is an important step in expanding sustainability assurance within the feed sector. Certification Bodies must ensure that all auditors assigned to MI5.7 Feed LCA audits have completed the e-learning module and are formally approved.
Including the module in your Harmonisation meeting will help streamline this process and ensure auditors are ready before the standard is published.

Next steps for Certification Bodies

We kindly ask all CBs to schedule the Feed LCA e-learning Module into their upcoming Harmonisation meetings. More information and access details will be shared through the GMP+ Academy in the first week of April.

 After completing the e‑learning module, users will be invited to share feedback. We kindly encourage CBs to pass this on to their auditors, as it helps us improve the module where needed.
