Cost of certification

GMP+ certification helps you ensure business continuity, reassures your customers of your standards, and gives you a license to sell into a global market.

Example of costs for GMP+ certification

The following information gives insight in what companies should consider investing when applying for GMP+ Feed Certification. Always consult either a GMP+ Registered Consultant and/or a Certification Body to determine the actual investment.

When applying for GMP+ certification, consider that a typical GMP+ certification cycle is valid for 3 years, with annual audits (within a 12 to 14-month window). Special certifications, like inland waterway GMP+ inspection, are valid for 2 years.

Key Steps & Considerations

1. Develop a GMP+ Feed Safety Management System

  • You can develop the GMP+ Feed Safety Management System with your own in-house Quality department or opt for support from a GMP+ Registered Consultants (additional costs apply).

2. Determine the Scope of GMP+ certification

  • Your companies’ activities determine the number of scopes for GMP+ certification. It’s important to define the areas that will be included in your certification process.
  • The scope of your GMP+ certification is outlined in Chapter 3.2 of CR4.0 Tariffs 2025.

3. In case of Multi-Site Certification

4. Engage with a Certification Bodies

To initiate the certification process, reach out to an accepted Certification Body (CB). The CB will offer you a quotation, taking into account the minimum obliged audit times including the preparational work and reporting hours. We advise companies to request multiple quotations from different CB’s to be able to compare costs.

By understanding and following these steps, you’ll be able to get a clear overview of possible costs when dealing with GMP+ certification. Reach out to the Certification Body for any specific questions or details related to your business!
