Contamination of compound feed with Aflatoxin B1

Be alert when purchasing maize originating from Southern France.

What is the issue?

GMP+ International has been informed regarding levels of Aflatoxin B1 in compound feed intended for dairy cattle that exceed the acceptable limits. Investigations suggest that the contamination most likely originates from the maize used in the compound feed, which was harvested in southern France in the 2025 season.

What can you do?

Be alert when purchasing maize originating from Brazil. Please consider that for maize there are minimum monitoring requirements in place, depending on the country of origin of maize and the type of processing company. For more information see TS1.7 Monitoring. This measure is intended to prevent the purchase or processing of maize and maize by-products that do not comply with the feed safety limit for Aflatoxin B1.
