Denkavit has been working for many years on nutritional solutions that contribute to healthy animals and a future-proof livestock industry. In the area of sustainability, the company was already certified according to the GMP+ MI5.5 Carbon Footprint of Feed standard. The introduction of the new MI5.7 Feed LCA standard was therefore a logical next step.

Smooth Transition
The certification was conducted by Kiwa VERIN. According to Denkavit, the transition from MI5.5 CFF to MI5.7 Feed LCA went smoothly because existing processes were already well aligned with the new requirements.
Roel Frenken, a nutritionist at Denkavit who was closely involved in the process, explains: “We believe it’s important to have our processes independently assessed. The certification confirms that our approach is well-structured and, at the same time, provides valuable insights for further improvement.”
Greater Insight and Transparency
The certification helps Denkavit gain greater insight into the environmental impact of its products and processes and supports the company in further integrating sustainability into its day-to-day operations. In addition, the independent assessment provides greater transparency for customers.
“Our customers can be confident that the data on the environmental impact of our products has been independently assessed and meets an internationally recognized standard. This supports them in achieving their own sustainability goals and meeting their reporting obligations,” said Botter.
An Important Milestone for the Industry
According to GMP+ International, this first certification demonstrates that the standard can be successfully applied in practice. “We congratulate Denkavit on this remarkable achievement.
