Thursday, February 27, 2020

In cooperation with Verband Lebensmittel ohne Gentechnike.V. (VLOG ) the GMP+ MI105 GMO Controlled standard is updated. The standard can be used immediately, but is mandatory as from July 1st, 2020.

A full version of the updated GMP+ MI105 GMO Controlled is available on our website. Here you find the highlights of the changes:

  • The standard can now be used for the production of GMO controlled feed additives and premixtures;
  • Storage and transshipment companies now need to be certified when they store and/or transship GMO Controlled feed;
  • Testing on GMOs must be done by a VLOG-recognized laboratory;
  • The monitoring plan must include the name of the VLOG-recognized laboratory that is used for testing on GMOs.

Since August 2018, the GMP+ MI105 GMO Controlled standard has been accepted by VLOG as equivalent to the VLOG standard. This allows GMP+ certified companies to deliver GMO Controlled feed to farmers who deliver non-GMO end products (meat / milk / egg) to markets.

On September 1st, 2019, VLOG published a new standard. In order to maintain the acceptance by VLOG, GMP+ International together with the working group updated the GMP+MI105 GMO Controlled standard. VLOG has accepted the updated standard as equivalent to the new VLOG standard.
